About METR
Studies broad autonomous capabilities and AI systems’ ability to accelerate AI research and development.
Key differences
Compare each service by the same aspect.
| Aspect | AI Proof Watch | METR |
|---|---|---|
| Subject coverage | Mathematics, theoretical computer science, and theoretical physics. | Long-horizon tasks across domains; not a research-subject catalog. |
| Main purpose | Curate reported contributions and make claims, sources, and evidence easier to inspect; list linked human follow-up works. | Studies broad autonomous capabilities and AI systems’ ability to accelerate AI research and development. |
| Assessment method | Four independent ratings cover AI involvement, technical verification, human understanding, and importance. Importance assumes the claim is correct; it is not a verification score. | Its time-horizon measure estimates the duration of tasks, based on human expert completion time, that an AI agent can complete at a specified reliability. |
| Email updates | Weekly updates across all topics, or selected-interest alerts that are daily by default and sent only when there is an update. | METR publishes evaluations and research reports. We found no topic-based email update product on the reviewed pages. |
When to use each
Use METR to understand agent capability on longer tasks and the trajectory of autonomous task completion.
By comparison, AI Proof Watch tracks reported research contributions by subject and preserves source-level claims and limitations. METR measures agent performance on tasks; it does not provide four ratings for individual research contributions.
